Terry Ross Showcase
Evening of Scenes from acting coach Terry Ross at the Hudson Guild Theatre (6539 Santa Monica Blvd., Hollywood). I was invited by Deirdre Wagner, whom I'd met at Women In Film in August, 2003, and whose work I'd liked while casting Consider As True. So, Keith Johnson and I decided to go check out her work, and that of her classmates, in this "up-from-San-Diego" class showcase.
Saw a couple of decent actors, on whom I'll keep tabs, and I really liked Sidney Franklin. He could be a good choice for one of the kids' roles in Perfect. We'll see.
I'm not a big fan of showcases in which actors put on scenes from movies. So, I guess it's good this was one hour, start-to-finish and there was a reception after. I just think there are so many better ways to showcase talent.
