"The Entertainer" Atlanta Open Call
"The Entertainer" Atlanta Open Call (10/29)
Collective casting activities for Wayne Newton's "The Entertainer" for E! Entertainment Television.
Again, assisted by Jonathan Walker Spencer, plus Hannah Knudsen and Cynthia Evans for Hotlanta-based work.
Rented Nick Conti's Professional Actor's Studio.
Calledback: Vince Tortorici, Jimmy Hager, Lakisha Smith, Kinnik, Rob Cleveland, Eric Moore, Jaimee Paul, Michael Garner (my personal favorite from all casting activities--a brilliantly comedic juggler, singer, guitar player, pianist, knife-thrower, novelty act with a twist (he sings): "I'm an Asian singing in Spanish with a Southern accent!"
Really wonderful to cast "back home."

"The Entertainer" Nashville Open Call
"The Entertainer" Nashville Open Call at Molyneux Entertainment (one of the classiest venues I have *ever* seen, much less rented for casting--really beautfiul!) 10/23
Even though most of the amazing people we saw for "The Entertainer" and Wayne Newton were by appointment, the open call was covered by E! News Live, which was fun for everyone.
Also helped that I'd done an appearance on "Tennessee Mornings" with Charlie Chase and Kelly Sutton
In the mix: Jonathan Walker Spencer, Shannon Toole and her crew of helper friends
Scouted/Calledback: Thom Ellis, Lynn Marie Rink (my favorite--an accordian playing, singing, dancing, comedic imp), Hilda Machado, Sarah Darling (who ended up cast on the show and making it to the final four, of course), Laura Marie Walker, Brad Lee Dennington, Dillon Dixon, Ondee Whitman, Jason Michaels, Damien Horne, Greg Warren, Jeff Alfiero, TK Durham, Jacey Cornell, Ronald DeMoor, Jennifer Morgan, Greg Frey, Gary Jenkins, Natalie Burke, and the aforementioned duo of Preston Brust and Chris Lucas

Shiloh @ Wildhorse Saloon
Shiloh @ Wildhorse Saloon (10/19)
Jonathan Walker Spencer and I scouted from the second we landed in Nashville. This was for "The Entertainer," that cool E! show starring Wayne Newton. We hit Lonnie's Western Room and Allygator Alley too (karaoke clubs), but the big venue that looked promising (cool goodies from the publicist) was Wildhorse Saloon and the really great band Shiloh.
We ended up bringing the "crowd warmup act" from the Wildhorse Saloon (Preston Brust and Chris Lucas--amazing kids) all the way to callbacks for "The Entertainer."
More notes later.

The Actors' Network
The Actors' Network (10/15)
This was my first time speaking at The Actors' Network. It was really cool. Went out after with a group of actors, plus Mitchell Fink and Kevin E. West, who work at the Network. Keith Johnson was in charge of collecting business cards from the actors we loved the best--I'll have to get my notes and add 'em in later. I know I have brought some of these actors in to prereads on projects since the speaking engagement.

Dee Wallace Stone's Industry Showcase
Dee Wallace Stone's Industry Showcase (10/11)
Went with Keith Johnson, saw Kelly Heffernan, Noreen Savides, Stanzi Stokes, Judy Kerr, and of course Dee Wallace Stone there, as well as a dozen or so pretty good actors.
We went to see Sharon Gardner, who is amazing. Also scouted some folks who will be on the top of my list to come to prereads in the future. Will add notes from the industry kit when there's time. Fun night. Odd to have monitors in the audience (drew focus from the stage) but we got used to it.

Boardwalk 11 Karaoke
Boardwalk 11 Karaoke (10/8)
Rose Auerbach's birthday party
GREAT venue for the MOST karaoke selections (really obscure, cool stuff) I've seen. Loads of fun, met a bunch of Rose's friends, plus hung out with friends we share. Details later.
