It was the best showcase I've
ever seen. -- Carol Barbee, EP "Touch," CP

Enjoyed
the showcase! I rarely go to these because the
talent is generally disappointing. Your showcase
was a wonderful exception. The entire event was
well produced and directed. You guys obviously
put a lot of time and energy into the evening.
Thanks! -- Meg Morman, casting director Morman

I am

You are
inspiring. I’ve not met anyone who is more
selfless when it comes to helping other people

more love and understanding would exist. -- Jenn

Well, you
did it again. Wonderfully organized, quick-paced
showcase with well-chosen scenes (not a turkey
in the bunch)! Love that there is no heavy
drama. Love to laugh and have a good time after
a long day at work, not be depressed with a lot
of serious scenes. Thank you for thinking of
absolutely everything, giving the audience no
reason not to come... something to tide us over
when we arrive and then a great dinner
afterwards that even includes salad for dieters
(thank you) and time with the actors, validated
parking, etc. Without the dinner, I would be
starving because there's no time on a weeknight
to stop to eat without being late to the
showcase as I am in the office 'til the last
minute. The time of the showcase is perfect! Any
earlier and I would have to leave the office
without getting everything done and then fight
rush hour traffic. I just adore actors and you
are so wonderful providing this service for them
AND US. Looking forward to the next one. -- Pat
Cutler, manager Cutler Management

Congrats

it and if I had been free, I would have come

mercifully short. It was over before I wanted it

the whole thing, from the opening scene through
to the networking: the actors were friendly,
open, and not pushy. Great work! -- Abby Casey,

I've
attended showcases in most every time zone in
America and I have to commend you, your actors,
and your crew for putting on THE best and most
enjoyable one of them all. The quality of the
work was excellent all around--so much so that
two days after the showcase I found myself
passing along headshots of several of your
performers to a producer friend who's putting
together a pilot. He'd asked me for some
specific casting recommendations and it was
great to have a bunch of fresh faces in hand
whose work I could now speak about
intelligently. GREAT job! Impressive! Keep up
the good work and I'll see you at the next one!

This showcase was the most
proactive thing I have ever done for my career.
I was amazed by the meticulous planning,

I'm just
following up with some results you can use to
market your next showcase, and because it
probably makes you happy. I am the newest member
of [management company]! And, I spoke with Tara
Sands and she signed with [another management
company] yesterday! Thanks for everything. Rock
on! You
are the real deal, a genuine article. In a town
where so many things are said but not delivered
upon (or at least falling way short of the
mark), you aim high and over-deliver. When you
set out the plan for this showcase in our first
meeting, I was so jazzed at all the wonderful
things that were to come and as we were
culminating last night I realized all of it had
achieved, and more. From meeting you, your team,
detailed directing, meetings held on how to
market me, review and improvement of my
materials, helping with industry contacts for me
to target, being available for almost anything,
and oh yeah... putting on the best showcase
ever: professional invitations sent to everyone
in town, online invitations, spectacular
programs, massively attended, great actors,
funny material, all pulled off flawlessly, then
great food, great drinks, and a post show
schmooze fest where people actually stayed to
talk. I made several contacts that I think will
really help my career, and probably a few I'm
not sure of yet even and somehow, I feel this is
just the beginning. Thanks again for everything.

I can't
thank you enough for this experience. I am very
lucky to have gotten the chance to work so
closely with you. This is one of those
experiences that you don't want to end. I think
what was truly shocking about it was friendships
we all made. Yes, of course, you were going to
cast great actors. That's a given. But, to have
that many actors get along like we all did with
you as the leader really made for a magical
time. Thank you again for EVERYTHING. This
showcase/amazing time will always have a place
in my heart and in my wonderful life moments. --

You made
me work for it, but it's some killer ninja
confidence I didn't have before! Never in a
million years would I have ever thought I would

all amidst auditions!! ALL in one week... and
it's only Wednesday!!! You did this to me. And I
thank you. -- Allie Smith, April 2016 Showcase

After a
pilot season of working my ass off and not
getting one appointment is, I guess, when actors
begin to wonder--not doubt, but wonder--and to
hear a CD say such encouraging things about me
makes me remember: "Oh yeah, I don't suck.
People just don't know me!" As I sat in a
meeting with The Actors' Network last night, I
had to tell everyone I knew about the
experience. I was honest and told them what to
expect: that they would have someone producing
it and running it who seems like she took every
principle that people teach at the Network to be
a working actor, and put it to use. Thank you so
much. -- Kurt Ela, April 2007 Showcase Cast

Truly a pleasure, truly a great and positive

a fact I'll be working with many of them again.
I've already benefited so much from the entire

I'll be happy. Worst-case scenario, I gained a

little, I get less and less shy and learn how to
bloody speak to people that I don't know well.
[Casting director] called me in to audition for

Thank you
again for everything. You were amazing to work
with and I am blown away with your commitment,
dedication, and love for the arts. The little
time we spent over the past eight weeks or so
has created a whole new chapter for my career
and I can't wait to get to the climax. Your
showcase was so well produced, everything in
place, and everything accounted for. All we had
to to is bring the 'A' game, show up to a packed
industry-filled house, and mingle. Also, being
in a room with so many influential industry type
and talking to them demystified who these people
are. Everyone that I talked to was nice and very
accessible. I met some really great people who
share common interests and established some new

[An agent] called me
yesterday and wants me to come in and do some
more scenes for him in his office. So, yay! I
may just get a new agent after all! Thanks for
all your hard work and for casting me in this
great experience!!!!! [Follow up:] I just signed
across the board with [an agency]! Yay! This all
started with the April showcase, so I want to
thank you for letting me be a part of that. It
was tons of fun, I made great new friends, and
now--finally--a new agent! -- Renee Scott, April

I just shot a national
commercial! This job was the direct result of
doing a wedding scene in the November '08
showcase; I wore the wedding dress I got for the

'08 showcase and signed me soon after. WHOOOT

Thanks so
much. I already received a call from [an agent]
and [another agent who had a conflict on her

toes are crossed. Whether representation comes
through or not, this has been an excellent
experience. Thank you so much for thinking of
our needs even before WE'VE thought of them! It
consistently amazes but never surprises me how
on top of EVERYTHING you are. I look forward to
working with you again soon! -- Zach Hanks,

Thanks
for everything you did to put this showcase
together. I had a great time, met some cool
people, and learned some good marketing tips.
It's always great to see a bunch of people come
together, put aside their egos for the greater
good, and make something special. I especially
appreciate how you made a showcase so
specifically tailored for LA. While the acting
was the main focus, you made sure that all of
the marketing was thought out and developed to
make the entire event very industry friendly;
the stuff us actors usually have trouble doing.

I want to thank you for
producing such a great showcase. In addition to
the contacts I made with directors, producers,
managers, and agents who attended the
showcase--some of whom I will be meeting
with--having my pictures, resumé, and
demo reel reviewed and critiqued by someone
determined to make sure every cast member is
presenting themselves appropriately--and in as
polished a manner as possible--was hugely
beneficial. Thank you for bringing us a
fantastic director and pulling together such a
diverse, funny cast. It was a great way to
jump-start the next stage of my career. It
helped me focus on my strengths and next steps.

We completely enjoyed the showcase.
It was so well produced (and the place was
packed). Everything was very classy. The actors
were really good, the scenes were funny, and the
direction was marvelous! A great, wonderful
show! Love the sexiness and physical comedy!

BRILLIANT
job. EXTRAORDINARY. I was absolutely blown away
by the clever ideas you showed for making the
evening fun, and the professionalism with which
you executed everything. By far the coolest,
most respectful showcase I've ever been to. By
"respectful" I mean of both your actors
(showcasing them smartly, elegantly, and without
that hint of desperation that often taints
showcases) and your invited industry (giving
them a fun, profoundly well thought out evening,
tons of info and talent in a brief amount of
time). So very top drawer and professional.
Pre-show music--PERFECT! Loved the choice of
tunes, loved the higher volume. Set up the night
with energy and excitement. The programs--oh, my
dear, you could market these, they're so f'ing
SMART. Best programs EVER. Such a great idea to
give room for notes, to give cross-referencing
so we could keep track of actors. GREAT idea to
have "fun facts" rather than resumé info.
I absolutely LOVED the programs. Fresh and
professional. Directing--very very well directed
show. Brisk, flowing. GREAT scene changing in
the blackouts, GREAT between-scene music. SO
easy and fun to watch. The curtain call was
beautiful and fun. I was so impressed with how
you guys took the time to make these aspects so
tight and smart. Just made the whole evening so
polished. The scenes--great pacing. Nothing was
too long. Each was very crisp and easy to watch.
Well directed. This was a high class operation,
Bonnie. I'm profoundly impressed at what you
have created. You have much to be proud of, and
you deserve FAT respect and appreciation for
what you have given to your lucky actors, and to
your lucky audience. Thank you very much for
sharing it with me. Love, love, and just a wee
bit more love. -- Jonna Tamases

Kick ass.
Nice!!!! What a wonderful time Deven Green and I
had at the Cricket Feet Showcase. First and
foremost, LOVED the packets that we got. Not
only did we enjoy getting seated early, but the
packets enthralled us!!! (And we're both
producing separate projects for the web right
now.) I am quite blown away with how the whole
evening was put together. Classy, professional,
and caring from start to finish. The pre-show
elbow-rubbing was great, the show was brisk and
witty, and the post-show chatting and meeting
was some of the best schmoozing I've ever been a
part of! The programs were meticulous (loved the
"fast facts" about the actors. So much more
helpful and conversation-inducing than just
having their credits. I learned so much about
'em!). The actors were very well-coached in
post-show meet-n-greet techniques (obviously
your touch, Bon) and the vibe was pure
positivity. In fact, all of the actors you had
were truly wonderful people to get to know. And
we couldn't hear more good things about you!!
They love you!!! (As do we!) Truly you are not
only one who practices what they preach, but
know what they're doing when they preach. I am
consistently and pleasantly amazed when I see
whatever it is you have your hand in (from
showcases to karaoke nights to in-person
hang-outs to your column to your online vids
to... well, everything). It is just nice to know
a solid, positive professional and you are truly
a shining light in a sometimes bleak industry.
Kudos you! With much admiration for what you
pulled off. -- Joel Bryant

really well done!! -- Mark Irvingsen

The Cricket Feet Showcase
did such an incredible job. Everything about
that showcase was so Bonnie Gillespie. The
quality of the talent and the scripts, the
thoughtfulness of the pamphlets (there was room
left blank for notes under each sketch), even
the fact that it was so hard to get in. This
women's perfectionism is truly inspiring, and
it's exactly what I hope to achieve myself
someday. This is theatre done right. -- Ivett

You did your homework in
putting this event together and it showed. The
scene transitions and music were great.
Complimentary food and drink before and
afterwards and get this--validated parking.
Something else you accomplished was to smother
the myth that it's impossible to get industry
professionals to attend showcases. The house was
packed with CDs, agents, managers, and
producers, etc. Congratulations to all and I
predict that many phones will ring with
opportunities as a result of the showcase. Good
luck! -- Stephon Fuller, The BUSINESS of the

The event was everything
that I thought it would be considering it was
Bonnie who is the mastermind behind it. It was
very organized and seemed to work like
clock-work. Again, knowing Bonnie, I wasn't
surprised. The guests arrived on the red carpet,
where we checked in and had our name tags on
lanyards waiting for us by extremely polite,
gorgeous women. Then, the photographer was next,
where pictures were taken of guests arriving to
the showcase. I honestly think that it made
everyone feel special and famous for a moment.
And certainly added to the excitement in the
air. There was an open bar and hors d'oeuvres
before the show. Then, the showcase kicked off
and consisted of 39 actors in two or more scenes
that lasted roughly 4 minutes each, spanning 90
minutes. And thankfully, there was a lot of
talent on that stage (in the writing AND the
acting) and it was all comedy. Again, clockwork.
The exits and entrances were practically
seamless and it was easy to watch and
hysterically offensive sometimes. There was a
complete reception following the performances
with yet still, another open bar and a full
buffet of Mexican food. I couldn't have
requested better myself. I loaded my plate with
food and headed to a corner by an open door of
The Colony Theatre (in Burbank) and held up a
wall while I ate. I people-watched (one of my
all-time favorite activities, if you hadn't
guessed) and congratulated the actors on their
work. I then found Keith and congratulated him
on his performance as well and thanked Bonnie
profusely for the invite. It really was lovely
and just all around fun. An event that I'd go to
gladly many times over. -- Kevin Charnas
